Heritage application lodged for works for Keith Haring mural
Arts Victoria has lodged a permit application with Heritage Victoria for works on Collingwood’s Keith Haring mural. Members of the public are now invited to make submissions to Heritage Victoria on the proposed works to feed into the permit process.

2012-13 Victorian State Budget
Safeguarding Victoria‟s great cultural treasures is the key focus of a boost for the arts announced today as part of the 2012-13 State Budget.Premier and Minister for the Arts Ted Baillieu said Victoria‟s major cultural institutions cared for collections valued at more than $4 billion on behalf of the Victorian people.

Entries now open for 2012 Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards
Premier and Minister for the Arts Ted Baillieu is calling for entries for the 2012 Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards, including Australia’s most valuable literary prize, the Victorian Prize for Literature.Mr Baillieu said the awards, administered by the Wheeler Centre for Books, Writing and Ideas, acknowledged and celebrated the role of writers in our society and their contribution to Australian culture.

Game Master Warren Spector to visit Melbourne
The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) announced that Warren Spector, the creator of popular videogame titles Deus Ex and Disney Epic Mickey, will visit Australia in June for the opening of the centre’s Game Masters exhibition as part of Melbourne Winter Masterpieces.

Melbourne Museum unveils ancient gold drinking cup
For the first time in Australia, a 4,500 year-old gold drinking cup discovered in the death pit of an ancient queen was unveiled at Melbourne Museum in the lead up to the international exhibition The Wonders of Ancient Mesopotamia.
