The National Apology - One Year On

February 13, 2009 marks the first anniversary of the national apology to the Stolen Generations.

The anniversary is an opportunity for all Australians to reflect on the apology, the change it has made to the lives of all Australians and to talk about the affect it has on the future.

On February 13, Sorry Day celebrations will be held around the country. In Melbourne, Federation Square will host Woorrbadina - Celebrating the National Apology from 12 - 2pm. This free public event will feature indigenous performers, speakers and films commemorating and celebrating the one year anniversary of this historic occasion.

At Arts Victoria, the anniversary is also a time to celebrate and showcase Victoria's vibrant and diverse Indigenous art and its artists. Visit our Indigenous Art in Victoria pages to find out more.
