Schools are fertile ground for experimentation, innovation and excellence in art.

Arts Victoria supports creative collaborations between artists, arts organisations, students, teachers and school communities through the Education Partnerships funding program. These arts in education partnerships deliver excellent artistic and learning outcomes for students, teachers, artists and school communities.

Artists in Schools

I Had a Dream - A digital movement, performance and installation project developed in partnership between students at Thomastown Secondary College and digital choreographer Hellen Sky.
Water Course - A collaboration between environmental artist Michael Shiell and students at Dimboola Memorial Secondary College.
From Scratch - A ceramics project where students from Mansfield Primary School worked with artist Wendy Jagger to create and design their own porcelain tableware.
No One Owns the Streets - A theatre project the responded to contemporary street culture led by artist Suze Smith.
In My Day - An animation project that explored the generation gap produced by Natimuk Primary school students and animator Dave Jones.

Extended Schools Residences

Toobelong Circus - A circus and theatre project that brought students from Pyalong and Tooborac Primary Schools together with artists from Circus Oz.
The Tale of Troy - A language and literature-based theatre project led by Western Edge Youth Arts that explored Greek mythology.
The Big Draw - The Big Draw project might have been better titled the 'Bigger-than-Ben-Hur project'. A different artist was partnered with each class for the whole year.

Written Case Studies

1000 Pencils - A literary project that explored themes of hope and devastation from fire-ravaged Kinglake to worn-torn Kabul led by writer Neil Grant.
Worlds Within - A physical theatre project led by Polyglot Puppet Theatre which explored the similarities and differences between students at Furlong Park School for Deaf Children and students at Epic Arts in Kampot Cambodia
