An art trade fair and public exposition of contemporary visual art featuring more than 80 selected galleries from across Australia and the Asia Pacific region. The program features the opening night Vernissage, collector and curator programs, lectures, forums and guided tours. The Fair is held in the World Heritage-listed Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton.
2 - 19 August 2012
With Australia's largest film festival programme and audience, 'MIFF' screens films from around fifty countries. It also showcases new Australian cinema by presenting both emerging and established local filmmaking talent.
3 August - 1 September 2012
Craft Cubed is composed of exhibitions, professional development, online programs, the Craft Hatch market and other satellite events, including open studios, workshops and more. The 2011 theme is HYBRID. Recognising the fluidity essential to experimentation, the theme will explore collaboration, new technologies, cross-disciplinary practice and emerging forms of craft and design.
24 August - 2 September 2012
Bringing together Australian and international writers, thinkers and readers for chat, banter and provocation, the festival program includes panel sessions, workshops, talks, book launches, readings and a schools' program.
