The Melbourne Cabaret Festival presents non-stop cabaret within South Melbourne's historic Emerald Hill arts and cultural precinct. The festival features the best of home grown talent and a selection of acts from interstate and overseas across seven venues. The festival includes comedy cabaret, musical theatre stars, New York styled acts, vaudeville, 'dark and edgy' cabaret and queer shows.

The Mildura Writers' Festival brings together some of Australia's best writers in an intimate, winter program of workshops, lectures and discussion forums. Beginning in 1994, this event has evolved into an acclaimed literary festival, not only because of its literary pleasures, but also because of the talent it attracts and its atmosphere of conviviality - building upon the provincial Victorian winter, with late night discussions around wood fires, showcasing the local and regional gourmet food and wine.

With Australia's largest film festival programme and audience, 'MIFF' screens films from around fifty countries. It also showcases new Australian cinema by presenting both emerging and established local filmmaking talent.
