Changes to Arts Funding Programs
Minister for the Arts Heidi Victoria has announced changes to the Victorian Government’s arts funding programs delivered through Arts Victoria. This includes the introduction of a new contestable grants program, VicArts grants.
The changes consolidate Arts Victoria’s suite of funding programs for the arts, and build on the recent introduction of the Organisations Investment Program and the earlier refresh of the Regional Development Program.
The changes are set to streamline and focus the Government’s investment in the Victorian arts sector, and simplify the process of applying for a grant.

The new structure will include four main areas of investment:
The VicArts grants program
This program brings Arts Victoria’s contestable funding opportunities for a wide range of creative and career building projects and activities under one banner.
It absorbs the previous Arts Development, Community Partnerships, Contemporary and Live Music Development and International programs.

The Organisations Investment program
This program was introduced in 2012 and provides multi-year funding for Victoria’s independent, small to medium and major performing art organisations.

The Regional Development program
This program brings together multi-year support for regional arts facilities and the development and support of regional touring product, to ensure that regional Victorians have access to a wide range of quality arts experiences.
It includes the Touring Victoria program, as well as schemes to mitigate risks for performing arts presenters and indemnity insurance for touring exhibitions.
