The Indigenous Arts Development program supports the development and recognition of Indigenous art and artists in Victoria.
Aims
The Indigenous Arts Development program aims to:
- to support career and professional development of Indigenous artists and art workers through distinct opportunities.
- to market Indigenous artists living in Victoria and profile market south-east Australian Indigenous art.
Categories
This program has two categories:
- Indigenous Travel and Professional Development - supports professional and market development opportunities for Indigenous artists and arts workers across all art-forms.
- Partnerships - supports a range of partnership opportunities which foster the development of Indigenous arts in Victoria.
Updates
The Indigenous Visual Arts Residencies Program has now concluded. This program was a two year initiative in partnership with the Commonwealth Governments, Office of the Arts.
Over two years the program provided a number of city and regional based visual arts vocational residencies to Indigenous artists and arts-workers in organisations such as Mebourne Museum (Bunjilaka), ACMI, fortyfivedownstairs, The Art Vault (Mildura) and SAM (Shepparton Art Museum).
