Key Arts Organisations

Arts Victoria provides ongoing operational support to a wide range of non-government arts organisations. In 2010, funding to 106 organisations totalled $37.8 million.

Funding supports operating and programming costs associated with developing, delivering and promoting innovative cultural programs. The mix of organisations includes:

• 31 Museums and Galleries
• 25 Performing Arts Organisations
• 19 Industry and Cultural Development Organisations
• 20 Performing Arts Centres
• 11 Festivals

Key Facts

Every $1 provided by Arts Victoria generated a further $6.73 income to the recurrently funded sector.

The 106 recurrently funded organisations reported the following figures:

• A total audience of 8.7 million (25% resided in Regional Victoria)
• 1,819 equivalent full-time employees
• 16,856 volunteers provided more than 438,000 hours of service
• 367,000 Victorian student attendances at 83 organisations
