The Victorian Government is the custodian of eight major arts and cultural organisations on behalf of the Victorian people. These are:
Arts Victoria oversees the State-owned arts and cultural organisations. They are national and international tourist attractions and provide outstanding resources for research and education. Between them they attracted nearly 9.4 million attendances in 2010-11.
