The Report of the Contemporary Visual Arts and Craft Inquiry,
commissioned by the Commonwealth Government, was launched
on Friday 6 September. Local Melbourne business identity and
avid collector of modern and contemporary art, Rupert Myer,
chaired the Inquiry.
Rupert Myer described the Report as a comprehensive analysis
of a diverse and dynamic sector of the arts that makes an
important contribution to Australia's cultural and economic
life.
The twenty key recommendations of the Report's findings covers
four broad areas:
