These organisations offer a range of learning experiences that engage students of all ages in reading and writing. They enrich learning and teaching of literacy through school visits, workshops and through online resources. Most are linked to the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) and/or the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS).

The Centre for Youth Literature promotes reading. It offers exciting and affordable book events for young people and professionals. Teenagers and children meet great writers and talented young actors - bringing reading to life. Professional learning programs and the biennial Reading Matters conference keep adults in touch with crucial issues and ideas in youth literature.
Express Media provides support and development opportunities for young Australians in writing and media. They present an annual program of special events, workshops, exhibitions and artistic projects throughout the year. Their flagship project is Voiceworks magazine, a national, quarterly magazine that features exciting new writing by Australian young writers.
As well as having a structured in-house workshop program, Express Media delivers tailored workshops in new media, writing and publishing to schools and community groups.
Each year, the Melbourne Writers Festival programs three days of schools based events, featuring popular and notable international, national and local writers. These events are planned for groups of up to 500 (depending on venue capacity) school students and their teachers, from grade 5 to grade 11 as well as VCE sessions.

The State Library of Victoria is one of Australia's oldest cultural institutions. It is the major reference and research library in Victoria, responsible for collecting and preserving Victoria's documentary heritage and making it available through a range of services and education programs. Throughout the year the State Library of Victoria organises a range of exciting programs and events. From stimulating lectures and talks to inspiring exhibitions and displays - there is something to interest everyone.
