Lou Bennett

Lou Bennett is a multi-talented Yorta Yorta woman and the co-founder of the internationally successful folk group Tiddas. She is a prolific storyteller who often uses humour to narrate Koori experience through song and theatre. Her warmth and cheekiness have made her popular with a wide audience.

Lou 's current band, Lou Bennett and The Sweet Cheeks, released their debut album, Hold My Hand? in 2008.

Over the years Lou has performed with numerous Australian and international musicians, including Archie Roach, Ruby Hunter, Christine Anu, Bangarra Dance Theatre, Bob Geldof, Arlo Guthrie, Powderfinger and Jimmy Little.

Lou is also deeply involved in the theatre industry, working as an actor, assistant musical director, composer and soundscape designer. Some of her recent projects include: Magpie, Conversations with the Dead, Yanagai! Yanagai!, The Sapphires and Show Us Your Tiddas.
