Victoria - The Place To Be

Tarerer Festival

For thousands of years, the coastal clans gathered on the Tarerer lands, located between the city of Warrnambool and the town of Port Fairy. This great annual meeting was a time of great feasting, celebration, ceremony and trading.

As in times long gone, Tarerer remains a focus for restorative arts practice enhancing the region's cultural identity, history and environmental significance, promoting harmony and exchange through the celebration of culture and country.

Each November, the Tarerer Festival is held in this traditional location. The multicultural celebration invites all to gather together in the spirit of the 'meeting of the clans' from which 'Tarerer' takes its name.

The festival hosts a range of high-profile Indigenous and non-Indigenous performers in a musical event suitable for the whole family. The festival also features Indigenous dance, workshops and a 'Youth Stage' that profiles emerging performers.
