Organisations

Victoria is home to a diverse array of arts and cultural organisations - from internationally-recognised major companies, to much-loved local gems, to cutting edge innovators.

It is estimated that there are almost 8,000 organisations across the State that are involved in either creating or supporting some type of arts activity.

These cover all art forms and range from the fledgling to the flagship.

At one end are small groups of artists who band together to present a few exhibitions or performances; at the other, high profile, well-established companies with full-time staff - and everything in between.

All of these organisations contribute to Victoria's reputation as a creative and cultural hotbed.

Some focus on industry development, others innovate and generate new work, and others are dedicated to engaging the community. Many tour extensively throughout Victoria, Australia and the world. And together they ensure that we are spoilt for choice when it comes to opportunities to enjoy the arts in Victoria.
